Shaved door handles

People keep on coming up to me asking if I'm going to be doing this or not. Anyone plan on having this modification on their E90/E92? I've never seen one in person before.

What exactly do you mean by shaved? Like no handle at all.

Yeah, like a door with no trace of a handle.

Like what they do in "Pimp my ride"? Open the door with a push of a button?

Supposedly you carry a keyless remote like a fob and the door pops open.

Here's a picture of a G35 with shaved doors. Actually I think it looks sweet. Dont know how practical that can be though.

I considered shaving the handles and relocating the CA in order to have a one-touch access. CA would be unlocking the doors and a solenoid would pop the door open if I connect it to CA with a slight delay action.

I shaved the handles on my RSX-S as well as my S-10. If you do it, go with Autoloc and take your time to install it right or the solenoids won't open the door properly. I had nothing but problems with my s-10 so I did the install myself on the RSX-S making custom brackets and what not and have not had a single problem in 4 yrs

First pic the door was painted, but not clear coated. Second pic is after the color change

I think shaved doors should be only done to trucks on bags...anything else just looks out of place.

Wow Faintreality, that looks awesome! At first I completely blew this off but after looking at that G35 and your cars, I'm seriously considering it. An important issue would be resale problems maybe.

^Resale would definitely be a strong point to consider if you plan on selling your car sooner than later.

I dont plan on selling it for another 5 years, but even then, would a dealership accept a car with that mod as a trade in? How many people would be put off by the fact that they have to handle to grab.

It's very clean and I would love to do it. Just not sure at all that I should.
