Half engine light!
I did a few WOT's then went home. An hour later I got back into my car drove for about 10 seconds and then I got the half engine light... I turned around went back home and ran the codes and nothing came up! When the half engine light came in it said reduced power but it felt normal..
I turned the car back on a proceeded tonwhere I was going and no engine light came on and everything was fine.. Should I be worried or is that normal? |

I will get the main question out there right away... What tune and modifications? If any.

Yeah, it never seems to effect much and I spent a long time trying to figure out what the problem with no avail. Very rarely the car will idle roughly but I haven't noticed anything else besides that. I think that symbol represents half engine power but I still have full power when the light comes on.
I think it has something to do with the tune/downpipes.

I have a similar problem. 2007 335i cab, no mods, after 1st half hour track session, got half engine light. No power loss then, and would disappear when engine off. Later track runs with firm braking and lots of WOT, light on and significant power loss. Again, no prob after the track day- drove home w/o problem.
Any suggestions? |

Half engine light
Went to the dealer for service. Lots came up on codes including wastegates and vanos but dealer said it was normal for the car to power back to protect itself. This doesn't make sense to me. Surely a 335 is meant to be driven.
What do people think. I do want to be able to do track stuff |

Happened to me yesterday, after picking the car from the dealer for the recall. Half engine light twice but no noticeable loss of power. Tried to pull up codes but nothing showed up (maybe I didn't do it right). It was just normal driving, no WOT. BTW the SA told me that it was time to replace the plugs, but for $350 I'll do it myself. I'll try that first to see if that get rid of it.
