335i Maintenance Requirements
I'm confused about what direction to take? Should I simply accept the service intervals provided by BMW? I read in Roundel that Mike Miller reccommends having a break in oil change at 1500 miles, oil changes every 5-7k afterwards and have all of the drivetrain fluids changed at 30k.

Go with the intervals your BMW tells you. Since the motor runs with synthetic oil it is not a problem to have it in there so long. That's why they use synthetics to have such long service intervals. Top off your oil with the BMW oil and you should have no problems. If in doubt, ask BMW NA for clarification.

If it's a lease I would follow the maintenance schedule. I bought, so I did a break in change and will change it myself the entire time I own the car. The dealership is over 1 hour round trip and I can change it in 30 minutes. The less trips to the dealer, the less chance they damage your car.
