WTF is wrong with Connecticut drivers

Coming back form Jersey today and constantly stuck in behind people slow boating in the fast lane, especially in MA.

Listen closely, if you are from CT. Here in MA if you are in the fast lane and not doing 85, you are going fucking slow, get out of the way.

I watched some retard in a pickup truck on the Mass Pike sit in the fast lane for as long as I could see him, people getting in the center lane gunning it past whenever there was room (which was rare), happened for like 10 miles, he never moved, just sat there at 70 when the rest of the fast lane was going 80 and the center lane was going faster - what is wrong with assholes like this.

Sorry to pick on CT, but I notice more CT plates than anything else going slow in the fast lane around here (RI is a close second!)

I say the same about MA drivers.

Either way, it can really suck at times driving around here.

MA drivers are pretty bad in most ways, but generally like to go fast at least!

Until it starts raining. Then it's 40 in the left lane.

CT drivers are generally oblivious and self-centered, which I find more dangerous than just aggressive or slow drivers. Assume that CT drivers are unaware of your presence on the road.

Process for most CT and MA drivers...

1) Get on highway
2) Make sure not to check if anyone is in the next lane
3) Proceed to the leftmost lane
4) Remain in said lane until tenth of a mile before exit

Its like its their own personal autobahn, the only problem being that almost everyone does it, regardless of their speed, and refuses to change lanes.

Mass and Connecticut drivers tend to move along a bit quicker than NH drivers but the whole concept of the right lane is lost on most. Almost no one respects a quick flash of the lights and moves over.

I lived in CT for 5 years during and after college... My driving, needless to say, changed quite a bit.

Having driven in CT a lot, I've generally found their drivers to be better and traffic to move a good deal faster and smoother than it does in MA. On my way to Mohegan Sun once there was a road that was traveling 95+ in the left lane for a good 30 miles or so.

In the middle of nowhere areas of CT you can keep up a high rate of speed. The second you find civilization, however, you'll find nothing but traffic and idiots.

I will say that's absolutely true for I84. 84 through Hartford is a damn nightmare.
That said, 91 has generally been smooth sailing for me, smoother than it is once you cross the border up into MA, at least.

unfortunately drivers are so ignorant in the northeast..

but there's a simple solution to all of this..

buy an old crown vic and install a brush bar and roof rack.. cruise down the left lane at any speed and people will get out of your way quick

Yes there is a mixed bag in Ct, I'll admit that. But, I see my brother in California a few times a year and let me tell you..you'd think some people were driving with there eyes closed lol. I guess every state has their fair share though.

Don't get me started on CA drivers (especially southern CA)...they are even worse than New England drivers!

I can attest to the fact that southern Californians are by far the worst. Especially in areas with higher concentration of elderly foreign folk of all colors lol. But I still love california with all its traffic and glory..

Drives me mad. They usually skip step 2. Even when the road is empty, they just enter the highway and scoot to the leftmost lane. ARGH!

And then, when surveyed, BMW drivers are "jerks" for passing on the right or flashing lights.

Just drove up to Tewksbury and back for work, was going along nicely at 90mph on 90 and 495, but on the way back there were several "queues" (as Top Gear would call it) on 90.

When I finally was able to pass....saw a CT plated A5 convertible with a girl texting....in the far left lane, of course.

It made me think of this thread...sorry guys for us CT folk.

Dude Nh drivers kick ass. We have pretty much only two lane highways so people know to get the EFF out of the left lane unless they are passing. Now whenever I see someone not moving over, 98% of the time its a MA plate. I usually do the "euro" flash of the headlights when I'm coming up on a car that isn't passing and just driving in the left lane for no reason. One time this guy in a minivan with MA plates(who was doing 65mph before I flashed my lights) pulls over to let me by, then accelerates to match my cruise control set 78mph and get right on my ass and keep flashing me. Assholes.

This is one of the great things about modifying your headlight switch to enable rear fogs. People don't know what they are and assume they're brake lights. SO you flash your rear fogs at people and they back right off.
