Will this work - wheel and tire fitment setup?

I just bought a set of 18x8 ET35 square setup of rims. I am considering buying a set of 205/40/18... Will this be a safe setup? Don't want to stretch my tires too much.

If you don't want stretch why 205/40/18? You should go with 225/40/18. You will not have any rubbing with that setup. Its basically factory specs. I would consider spacers.

I'm just going to say that it will look stupid. Too small tyres with sunken wheels.
Also it will mess up speedo and tyres are 0.63 inch smaller diameter than factory wheels 225/40/18, so basically your ground clearance is getting even smaller.

But anyway here is some examples
http://tyrestretch.com/?s=8.0+205+40+R18+

Garage List

+1 for 225/40/18s.

Spend the extra money on the right sizing.

205/40R18 is very small and certainly not a recommended size.
