I hit a raised manhole on hwy 7 (that stretch where they are doing the bus only lanes near Leslie) which slashed my tire. No warnings or lights in the area so that you can see it in advance.... just a surprise raised manhole.

Don't get me started on Gerrard St downtown...

How can you tell by feel if a rim has been cracked? Vibration? Or was the crack that bad that its visible on the outside?

Take the tire off and spray it down with soap and water. Look for bubbles

Vibration is a good sign that you bent your rim (or could just need a wheel balancing).

Cool thx guys...I've bent a rim with my previous ride but never cracked one before so I unfort. know the vibration feeling. Happened to also be on the hwy 7 stretch years ago when they redid it between centre and Bathurst

Bent two rims on the 401 last week. Union Rim Repair always gets my business.

Just hit a raised section of the train tracks at lakeshore right before coxwell. Avoid the middle lane going east if you can.

On a sweeping right or onramp, slight vibration from the driver's front but goes away when going straight at both street and hwy speeds. Back to Altech for an alignment as I don't think this is a bent rim...

I almost cracked my e30's oil pan a few weeks back due to an unmarked missing asphalt strip.

This was caused by some random debris on the highway. Completely ate my rim for breakfast, I now have the rim mounted in my shop as a constant reminder about how crappy the roads are here.

Lmao these stories are actually hilariously depressing. All our tax dollars, where the f do they go? Oh! That's right, to the unemployed. The Canadian government is to busy accommodating non-canadian citizens. G20 country with jungle roads in its highest concentrated metropolitan city. HURRAY CANADA! KEEP IT UP

My suspicions were correct - rear was out of spec. -1.5 left vs. -2.2 right. Pat @ Altech comes through again

hit a raised manhole cover in brampton on dixie, absolutely no warning. had just put the style 95's on. front right (the wheel that took the brunt) tire started leaking less than 24 hours later.
