Coding with NCS Expert 4.0.1. How do you Read the ECU?

So I've followed the NCS DIY pdf and with the new version of NCS Expert, step 57 isn't there (the 'Read ECU' part). I've been doing OK with the old version of NCS Expert, but since I installed the JB4 in my car, I was having issues communicating with the car. I was told to upgrade to the latest version and I have. Now I'm a little lost.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

The standard tool 212 version the NCSexpert is missing the read ECU part. Go back to the older version if you can't get the 64 bit version working. Make sure JB4 is set to valet map 0.

The JB4 is in map 0. I'm not running a 64 bit OS (either an XP VM on my Mac or an XP native on a netbook). What am I supposed to do if it's missing the "read ecu" part, other than go back? The older version doesn't seem to work at all.

Ok, I figured it out. The standard version has no "expertmode" profile. Once you add the expertmode profile, you can do it.
