Gray/White Outer Layer on Tread?
Hey guys, just a quick question. I just got a set of Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's about a month ago and I noticed that my tires always seem to have like a coating of white/gray powder on the treads. I also noticed them on my stock BMW runflats that I replaced. Is this normal? I don't see any other cars on the road with this issue, all of them have deep black treads.
I've tried washing with soap and water and it works, but comes back after a day of driving. |

Do you have photos of what you're referring to?

Sorry for the late reply, been pulling really long hours this week. Here is an image of my tires, note that white layer on just the tread:

Totally normal, that's nothing more than the road or driveway dust that tires will pick up. Newer tires may show this more as the outsides are shiny clean and the tread area is shedding the mold release agents.

100% normal. Newer tires tend to be stickier than more used tires as well. I know that whenever I throw on brand new tires, I can hear tons of little rocks and whatnot getting thrown up in the wheel wells. You have nothing to worry about, OP.
