I was travelling to JFK airport to drop off mu cousin on thursday morning and initially i felt the ride was more bumpy and rough. i taut its because of the lot of pot holes on the park way. i was actually driving like 75 MPH.

And then suddenly i stopped in a rest place to use restroom and then when i started the car n put in reverse i heard big creaking noise from back and when i
saw it to my surprise the right rear wheel is totally inclined inside as shown below.

i have to tow the car all the way to BMW dealership, insurance guys yet to show up to see the car but the SA was saying it may be huge damage and it may cost around 8k to fix this with all labor and allignment.

I am really upset and surprised as why wud this be a huge damage and i dont understand it was running fine and all the sudden this happened.
