A1BN & Garage 786 Leicestershire

Hi all

Have a look at the difference's between these 2 website

www.a1bnspecialist.co.uk/
&
http://www.bmwspecialistleicester.co.uk/

As many of you know I work for A1BN Stevenage and we have amongst other things a very enviable website, which has been copied obviously copied without our knowledge/consent by Garage 786 in Leicestershire. We are obviously quite miffed regarding the use of our website design layout and even our wording has been blatantly copied.

We would just like to point out that we are not connected to this company in any way shape or form. Doubtless to say that I'm sure that the work they carryout will be of good quality(we can see they've been going for some time)and we are not in any way disputing their business, in fact being so far away from us there's no reason for us to be concerned by having another independent BMW business in the market place, but this blatant and obvious copying of our website design has effected our standing on Google, which we've spent a long time working on and also customers confusing their company with ours due to how it looks on Google as you can see from the scripture below.

Hopefully this will be sorted soon, but appreciate you all taking time to read this post and for taking on board what we're saying(its only the use of the web design and even wording that concerns us). Very sad really that we have to go to these lengths to protect our business, but we've already since this sites gone live seen a drop in our Google rankings, which takes place when our design is in effect "hijacked and copied" as we've discovered today..

If you go on to contact at the bottom of the page it even bounces back to us! Shame really, but all we want to do is make people aware of no association and hope that they get the message and carry out the correct rectification work.

Thanks for reading

Steve

Mr Google, who's now been made aware by our web designer, who's none too happy having his ideas and layout nicked is apparently on the case.

Shame really as when you look at the workshop and that it looks a really professional place, pity the attention to detail wasn't put in to place re the web page which including the text has been directly copied from our page with the odd 786 reference thrown in the main text(which shows they've deliberately been meddling) when you use the contact icon at the bottom of the front page it even directs the user to our webpage... How obvious is that

A little update my boss has spoken to the owner who wants his website revamped, having looked at various sites he had seen that looked good and left it to his web guru to sort it out, sadly as you can all see he liked the look of ours and via with web designer its kind of been copied and he was so I'm told unaware of the end result until it went live. Pity really has proof reading may have rang alarm bells IMO, but obviously something's gone wrong or naivety has played a part in the execution.

We'll see the end result of us posing questions re the end result of his site as it stands. But if we get the promised revision to his site then we are happy to end it at that.

i was going to suggest its probably not the company that done the copying, but someone who they hired who does web-design as a side line or something (or is just a lazy f**ker)
