Painted my brakes and wheel nuts etc

So my wheel nuts and brakes were in a terrible looking state, it really made the car look poor. I have never taken my wheels of since owning this car so thought it would be a good idea to look to see if there cracked anywhere or have been cracked.
Pleasingly they all seem fine, which made me a little sad as I like the looks of a set of wheels ******** has on offer at the moment and if I found one little crack I was going to just buy them lol.

Probably took 1.5 hours per side which included cleaning the wheel inside and out, cleaning inside the wheel arch too and messing about on the phone / taking pics. I used hammerite smooth for the discs and calipers, for the wheel nuts I just used halfords gloss black paint I had in the shed. I dont expect it to last to long but now I have seen the results I will defiantly look for some better paint.

So I never really got any before pics but I did remember half way through the first side.

If this is a job you have been putting off, just do it I cannot believe how much difference it made. Still got to clean the car but I ran out of time

Before (notice the rear brake disk etc

and done

Nice work, really makes a difference & a good excuse to give the wheels & arches a really good clean. I did mine barring the disks in silver last year & the calipers are still fine, the bolts in silver don't last as long but I have 10 spare bolts now ready painted so anytime I remove a wheel I just replace them on the car & respray the rusty bolts for next time.

Same colour car & wheel centres as mine, do you have matching black/white roundels & if so where did you get boot one from? I've found boots are near impossible to find in non carbon, I did source a 78mm one put doesn't fit perfectly.

nice, i was unsure on black but it seems to settle in nicely and also I hope it hides the dirt a little. these wheels are a nightmare to clean, how you get in the gap made by the spokes I do not know.

The Roundels are standard blue not messed about with them yet but never knew the rear was a problem

Looks great - shame they don't match your interior anymore though lol

Been meaning to do mine too but will go with silver when I do. I've not had the wheels off before either - did you need the rubber jacking things for your trolley jack/axle stand?

Good work, that's what my hammerite post earlier this week was all about, still haven't got around to it myself!

You have a more serious jack than I have, was hoping to do this with a basic jack, will let you know how I get on

What rubber jacking things? I just used the jacking points but one did get stuck....

My jack is basic too, was 30 quid of amazon, when I jack a car up the wheels sink into my tarmac, made a mess of the drive over the years lol , I only just managed to do two wheels at a time you will probably only be able to do one if its smaller

It was your thread that made me actually do it lol
