This started happening last week and I was finally able to snap a quick picture before the lights went away. I was at a stop light when all of the sudden a bunch of lights come on for no reason. This also happened while the car was moving. They come on for a few seconds and goes away...except for a little small circle that stays on next to the mileage indicator (see picture). After I turn the car off and restart, they are gone and its as if it never happened until the next time the lights come on again. Does anyone know what this issue is stemming from? Could it be the battery? I have an 07 and still on original battery but I've never gotten any battery indicator lights come on before

That little dot looks like the tamper indicator on the E46 saying the mileage is incorrect. Have the battery and alternator tested at autozone, if the car's voltage isn't high enough the car will start shutting down systems. DSC is usually the first to go.
