Cool Emblem LED Wiring Help

Hi Guys, I have one of these that i got just for the hell of it to see how it will look:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/140853703876...84.m1439.l2649

I found a video of a guy talking about how he did his e39 here:

& have a written guide for installation here:

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/How-To-Inst...ghts-a/434.htm

SO, that leads to my question: if i tap into the license plate lights to do this (on a 07 328i), will i get any electrical errors? what type of procedure would be required to prevent any codes? resistors? the power draw should be extremely minimal, but i know e90s are a lot more finicky about their wiring than my e46 was and i hear all types of things about issues with angel eye retrofits from places like OSS and getting codes. I do not want that.

any help is appreciated. I know this might not be everyone's cup of tea, however, if you're not here to help or be constructive, please flame someone else's thread.

I really want to, but I don't want to drill a hole in my trunk just to find out it messes with the electronics and ill have to take it off anyways.

You can tap your license plate lights without it causing any errors… I thought this looked kinda cool at first, but I think once it is installed it will look nothing like the pic… I think it will look like a lighted circle without the emblem really visible…

Hi,

you can tap your license plate lights.
There'll be no errors.
I'll do this soon, too.

Have fun

turns out the emblem light was slightly too large to rest in the indentation in the trunk for the OEM roundel. Thus, i surrender my efforts on this. Time to get $15 back!

If you're going to do that you might as well just wrap you car in Christmas lights...
