the guides to mount the bumper are different. diffusers are interchangeable but have slight differences visually.

interesting, I didnt even know that. But that's only oem right? There's no difference when using aftermarket parts right?

When I replaced my LCI rear with M-sport. I sold my factory bumper to a local Pre-LCI owner. We are hesitant that it will fit, but it did fit exactly the same.

Pretty sure Lci m-sport is the same as Pre-lci m-sport. At least i hope so. I have pre-lci and lci m-sport waits to be installed. Those bumper guides are separate parts. They are not part of the bumper. Also those aren't that expensive. I paid like 60€ from both of them from BMW dealer.

This only applies if your car has stock bumper. If your car is pre-lci m-sport and you want to replace it to lci m-sport bumper, then i think no need for change those bumper guides. Diffusers are different looking.
