Newbie - need some advice please
Hi guys
Just got my first BMW 320i M Sport Coupe I've heard the engines are not great but how are they in your experience? I have a couple of questions 1. I have had h8 bulbs to replace they yellow Halogen lights in the front and the light error message has come on. I am going to go back to the person who fitted them but will the light cause the car any trouble? 2. I want to change the interior lights, please can you tell me which led fitments fit the main dome, map lights and footwell? Are they 501's or a different size. Hope to hear from you guys soon. Thanks in advance |

Usually the H8 Leds have a LED warning cancellor fitted. It seems like yours either has none fitted or they have blown. Not done the interior lights personally but there are kits available on eBay and also the official BMW kit (which is costly) that has all the bulbs you need. |

The warning light is just detecting the reduction in the current. Bit too technical for me from a electrical point of view but I'd have thought that if the resistors control the current output by the bulbs then it could short or cause problems which could cause damage. Personally I'd get it sorted soonest.

the warning light wont have any negative effects on teh car.
BUT if you leave the errors for too long, then your footwell module can pack up which is a few hundred to repair. Just dont leave them that long.... but for reference, i drove around with my light errors for over 8 months without issues In regards to interior lights. It would be best to buy a full interior kit as they are not that pricey and are a nice improvement over stock. But imo i prefer the warm yellow light over the bright crisp white LEDs |
