Higher mileage concers and couple pics

My diesel is approaching 40k miles and so far except the EGR issue I have had no problems. What are you guys seeing above 40k miles that would be pretty common accross the whole board? Anything to watch out for?

On a different note I just had my detail guys perform paint correction on the car (10hr job) and it came out spectacular. The color becamse much deeper and made me want to lick the paint.

52k miles and no issues yet. I did however change the ATF, coolant, and PS fluid within the past 10k miles.

only thing that seems to be even remotely common is carbon buildup

62k miles here. I get the DEF tank light here and there.

Is that a similar issue to what we had with e39 M5's?
If BMW NA is aware of this then Lemon Law covers the issue.

It's carbon buildup in the intake ports. Wasn't the e39 m5 issue all about the PVC from short tripping the car?

335ds is a completely different issue then the E39 M5. E39 M5 Secondary Air Injection ports would clog, causing code for insufficient air flow. This at least had no affect on performance.

The 335d issues affect the performance of the car significantly.

Fuel Injectors being replaced due to Zero Quantity Adaptation.

Not sure if its common but I had a replacement intake manifold installed at ~42k due to swirl flaps sticking, otherwise no problems.

I had the exact same issue at 14K miles. (22K kms)

I had a DEF tank sensor go bad a while back and it was replaced under warranty. No other issues. Currently at 55,000 mi.

No plans to purchase an extended warranty. At this rate I'll be at 100k miles in less than 2 more yrs and it'll likely expire worthless.

Definitely some good information. Sounds like there are few issues ahead of the D. It might be worth to get the extended warranty.
