Uneven run-flat wear
Here are two pics of the stock front left and right run-flat tires which came stock on my 2011 335d. They have from day one shown un-even wear, and have been noisy and warbling for the duration. Clearly i need new tires, but before i take it in for that, does any one have an opinion on what might be causing wear such as this? My fine son wont give my car back so i am not sure what brand the tires are...at 30K currently.
Actually, ill try buying tires from the online link offered here to the Tirerack. I just dont want to get to an installer and have them tell me it needs all sorts of maintenance just because of the crap tires. Of course, if it does need something ill do it. Should i email my dealer as well? Thanks all. |

It's likely your alignment. I have the same issue but it's the inside of the tire.

Tires feathering, I had that same issue, not right away, started up after 2 years. Feathering was more pronounced than yours, but not as severe.
I replaced my tires today with new ones, (after 3 years and about 40,000 km on them) got an alignment done, funny thing, from reading the service report it didn't sound like there was any issue with alignment, go figure. |

I would get your alignment checked out. That's unusual wear for sure!

Also besides taking care of the aligment monitor our air pressure, especially with these RFT. I try check mine often. I carry an air pressure gauge in my glove compartment.
