touch up paint for a scratch?

i scratched a small part of my aero lip. it's about a 5 inch scratch and it's barely visible. but it shows up whitish, which contrasts the jet black of the car. would bmw jet black touch up paint be fine just to cover it up? i wouldn't mind if it looks/feels like a scratch as long as the color is matched

I tried using the touch up paint, had a really hard time. Didnt go on smooth and in the end had to wet sand it off. What a pain in the but. Would buy those paint touch up kits over the bmw stuff any day after my debacle.

Alot of people recommend Dr. Colorchip I thinks that's what it's called. I haven't personally used it but you can search around.

Will the basic 40 dollar dr color chip kit work? I just don't want it to show up white on my car

I had a jet black sedan that got scratched up. I just used the paint match from advance auto. I used toothpicks to fill the scatch and after letting dry for a hr or so, took some polishing compound and worked the soft touch up paint down to the level of the surrounding paint. Polished it all up and waxed it and you couldn't tell there was ever a scratch there.

I've used the OEM touchup paint for Space Gray - color didn't match

Dr. Colorchip color matched perfectly and the application results were much better.

Which one did you get? Basic? Standard? I honestly just want to make the scratch black I don't care how it feels to the touch

I got the Standard Kit for $49.95 since it had all the tiny micro brushes in the kit
