You still need it even if you have the JB4 to pass emissions. The JB4 does NOT set the readiness needed when the OBD-2 port is read by the emissions technician.

This is only for those with aftermarket downpipes, mainly c@tless.

Figured it out I think: Google: "bms dp fix needed with jb4" and select the 3rd link that shows up.

Basically you have to have autoclear on all the time which is reset the readiness counter thingy so in states where they use an ODBII and plug it in you will fail inspection because the readiness checks have not been done. In most states I believe they do this, they do in mine. Also if you goto sell the car and they ever drive/live in a state that requires this, or your state starts to require this, it will fail. I believe most states are going to this method for state vehicle inspection for a number of reasons. I am not sure why anyone would want auto clear to be on honestly...

So from my limited research I would say you should get it.

Is it just for the inspections? I don't have inspections where I am at but I do not want a CEL on my dash when I put on my DP's

With just a jb4 and auto clear on you won't see the CEL because it will be hidden. But this dp fix is only to set the o2 sensors to "ready" for emissions.

It's not needed for normal driving.
