Changing my Yellow Angel eye's rings for white

Just a quickie peeps..

My 335i has the standard yellow rings with Xeons and I want to upgrade the ring colours to a bright white

first of all is a simple process to do (plug and play)

is the link below the correct fitment for my 2006 E90?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1407381554...407%26_rdc%3D1

Thanks in advance

No they won't fit your Pre LCI E90. Those are for Pre LCI E92/93 and post LCI E90/91.....

It's pretty easy.

Jack the front up, take the wheel off, take off the inner wheel arch liner. 2 socket sizes, can't remember them off the top of my head. 9mm and 10mm I think.

Once you've got that out, you need a flat blade screw driver to remove the panel covering the side light (halo). In there the is a plastic cover with clips you need to remove with a flat blade screwdriver too. Then there are 2x star/hex headed screws and bingo your done.

Just do the steps in reverse and your done.

Word of warning, on the drivers side mine had the oil cooler, which is a pain in the arse if you drop something down behind it!!!!

So around a 1-2hour job then?

I was hoping to get away without taking wheels off, but seems I wont.

I'm lazy, I might just pay someone 20-30 to do the job...

Anyone interested? lol

I was looking at the slightly more expensive ones and the cheaper one, I kind of went for mid range as I couldn't really see any really difference between the prices range...also that's for the LCI - mines Pre

Could you post the link to the ones you brought in the end as I also have a 2006 335i which I was considering changing from yellow to white.

Cheers for that link. They look good.

Take a before and after shot so we can see the difference and let us know if they are an easy plug n play install.

Don't go too bright... Otherwise you will just have a horrible blur from the inner angel eye and no brighter on the outer angel eye

Remember the light tubes can only transport X amount of light through the light tubes, so shoving more power through the led's wont make much of a difference if you are going for an evenly lit look

I've read that too, however i've seen more higher power versions so i'm hoping I don't have that issue.....maybe I should have gone for the 3W lower power ones first then huh?

Ill keep you posted over the next few days...

I went for 7k, over 5k however kind of regret that now.....this shouldn't make no difference to the inner and outer being more or less bright right?

The ones purchased by ZimmerZimmer are as he says 7k 10W so what would be the ideal setup for a perfect match to my xenon headlights..? 5k 10w..?

I think 40W is the best you are going to get.

I think stock yellows offer a better even output

Hey guys,

I've been away on holiday for a few weeks and wanted to upload the pics as some ppl did ask..

They do look GREAT, tbh, the pics don't do the lights much justice, they do look even better in person.

I took my car to my mates garage and we did the job within an hour, we found it easier to remove the bumper and head lights, like I said it took around an hour.

There is other ways to do the install without removal of the two items but we found that it would have been very fiddly.

I'd recommend changing the ring colour on any set of angel eyes from yellow to white - LOVING THE NEW LOOK!
