GTA: anybody with aftermarket touchscreen navi (Dynavin or similar)?
Hey all,
Anybody in the GTA with one of those navi touchscreen aftermarket units? Something like the Dynavin or the one from Car-Electronics (http://www.cars-electronics.com/bmw-...een_p1346.html) I just want to see and try it in person. |

My biggest petP is the way the bottom sticks out. Where the change flap is, sticks out and it makes it look cheesy and cheap. I actually think it hit the unit when you opened it as well.
Another issue I have is where to locate the heated seats. I heard some units have heated seats built in (dont know and cant see how unless they had the same connector on the GPS unit) now a fix for this would be to buy a AC controller that has the heated seats built in. Hope this helps B |

I have a pioneer double din touchscreen and love it. Not one of those units fit for our cars, but with the right bezel looks pretty good.
Climate controls do stick out a bit at the bottom, but not very noticeable IMO. My dad borrowed my car and though the unit was OEM (but he's no enthusiast). I don't have seat heaters, but you can get an adaptor that moves those buttons to the ash tray under the lid. Check my build thread for pics.

I have a pioneer double din installed with the Janus Design double din kit. Unlike all the other kits and dynavins, the Janus design kit has space for head unit on the bottom. So heater controls up top and head unit at the bottom. This prevents having the bottom stick out and is a cleaner kit IMO
