This car's sh*t definitely stinks

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-car...oc-cars-twt001

It says no accidents, but looks like it has Xenon's but no headlight washers, so many adverts on autotrader just don't sit right.

The first picture looks like its had an LCI facelift with lights and bonnet etc. a 2009 car but it has the latest front end. That might explain the lack of headlight washers

I think I know the car. I was told that it is non-recorded damage.
I'd avoid it considering that xenons were retrofitted and owner retrofitted CCC and not CIC.
You have to be dumb to install CCC on LCI car!

The guy will struggle to sell the car unless an idiot falls into this scam!

Are there dints on the front bumper?
Is it only me feeling that the leather on the front seats is saggy?
Is there a scratch on the NSF bumper?

From what I can see...

- 2009 was the year when the E90 changed to LCI, so don't think the car has had a new front end or anything.

- The car has the CCC satnav so the controller is consistent to this.

- For circa 41,000 miles - that steering wheel is uber shiny - either the owner has used crappy leather polish or its seen numerous McDonalds, KFC, Burger King oil/chip fat hands to make the steering wheel that shiny! Or its done more mileage than stated.

- Once again drivers side seat is so shiny in comparison to the rears and passenger side.

- That handbrake needs adjustment and possibly needs new shoes. In a well maintained 41k miler, it shouldn't be needed just yet.

N/S bumper gap is bigger than O/S.

Shame that its 325D which has very good tunning potential especially if its LCI 325D.

Why does it have Xenon's and no headlight washers then?

Ive seen quite a few early 2009 with CCC. Well the front bumper has been replaced or removed at least as the gap is wrong as I mentioned. Maybe it was damaged and he couldnt find one with washer jets so stuck this on. That automatically throws his 'no accidents' comment out of the window. Looking at that front bumper again, the fog lights look like Depo variants as opposed to genuine ones.

The car has had a LCI facelift. You can tell this because, the headlight switch is non chrome pre LCI, the track of the rear wheels sit further in like the pre LCI cars, the Xenons fitted are actually Adaptive Xenons. You can tell this as the inner light has a patterned lens for the cornering lights, not a clear dummy for normal Xenons (no washers so I doubt the adaptive parts are fitted), also if it had Adaptive Xenons from factory like mine did, it will of had High Beam assist... This car has no camera under the interior mirror.

They also slightly changed the leather on the LCI cars so it doesn't go so shiny after a few miles, this clearly has the earlier leather.

It may be a 2009 Reg car but a Pre LCI built before Sept 2008. Shame, as someone not in the know will spend there hard earned on that dishonest car.

Look in my garage to see what it should look like!

I've seen a few early LCI's that have a mix and match of old and new components - so its not uncommon, but without inspecting the car hard to tell for sure. One thing is for sure though there is lots of it on here to point towards it being a potential lemon. I suspect its done much higher mileage than stated too. Possibly clocked. As an example though, my old 320d was a 2009 and it had a mix of pre-LCI and LCI stuff - the LCI leather too and a gloss grey diffuser only found in LCI's.

This car would have had new mirrors, new bonnet (as the crease is different), new exhaust (as its the LCI engine version, the earlier 325D ones was a tiny bit different), and the wheels don't look genuine.

Its on eBay too now, and it looks like the seller is a regular salvage parts buyer lol. The eBay listing also states no service history as been misplaced.

Yeah, my 09 plate is a bit of a mish-mash of old and new. CCC or CIC can't really be used as a judgement of 2009 cars IMO.

Steering wheel is shiney, seat is a little saggy - but the owner may be of "larger" build - it's far from "knackered" though. As mentioned, perhaps too many MaccyD's drive throughs!?

Xenons and no washers is a weird one though - but as Makkann says, if it's the same one he's thinking of and it's had a clonk, it's not inconceivable it was done on the cheap and hence any 2009 front bumper was used.

From what I have seen, ONLY the E92/3 get a "mis-match" of LCI/pre-LCI parts.

Fairly sure for the E90, anything post Sept 08 is LCI.
So should have LCI switch gear / starter button (which this dosent have) and the chrome strip on the cup holders.

The bonnet looks completely f*cked, its not even straight in the middle, looks like its been banged underneath with a hammer to get it straight! and it also has a two dents on it!

This.

Doesn't mean it's a lemon, but as above it's missing a lot of lci kit. My money's on a late registered pre-lci that's had lci body kit parts retrofitted.

Ohh I love a bit of dodgy car detective.

I can't believe its pre-LCI, there are too many LCI parts on it. Obviously the front end but the mirrors are the large LCI type (no way you'd voluntarily change to those, the pre-LCI were better looking), the rear lights are LCI, which means different boot lid and rear quarter panels as they are differently shaped, exhaust as mentioned.

Someone mentioned the handbrake being too high, but in fairness my 325d of the same age was exactly like that from new as well.

I don't think the driver's seat looks too bad for a 4 year old car, I've seen a lot worse. I agrew the steering wheel is a bit shiny but that may just be an effect in the photo or over-jealous application of dash-shine, its obviously just been cleaned....

My guess is it's an LCI thats had an old CCC fitted on the cheap, along with the dash

I like the pre-LCI mirrors, however when I retrofitted folding mirrors, I could only find LCI one in my car. So I had to opt for LCI side mirros (with my car converted to LCI shape).

I made you correct on this. I guess the seller bought it damaged but unrecorded (or this is what I was told), and fitted CCC as he always wanted to sell it and make money on it.
