Automatic Locking (non i drive)
THis question as the title suggests is aimed at the non i drive folk. Now I know you can configure the central locking to lock all the doors just after the car has started moving, this is the feature I don't want. I also know you can configure the car to relock all doors if the remote open is operated, but no doors are opened (this is the function I do want). I had a tinker this afternoon and it seems I can set to lock if no door opened but ONLY if I select lock on the move as well. Can someone tell me I'm wrong.

On mine I need to have the auto lock setting on for it to relock if accidently a handle is pulled whilst driving or the button to unlock on the dash is pushed whilst moving.

Second one, do you mean when you are not in the car and you accidentally press the unlock button and don't realise ie the doors lock after a set time if no door is opened? If that's the one I don't know yet - I'm trying to find this on mine too. It's a handy feature but I'll have to wait until a week tomorrow to try and find it (that's when I should be reunited!) Should I be successful I'll be sure to post. BTW where in Hants are you? |

You select the option that has a clock timer and arrow --> meaning that the central locking locks the doors after you drive off and also if you unlock the car and don't open the drivers door after a period of time.

Is it possible to just set the one option, ie relock with no doors opened ?

There are 4 options: 1. no automatic locking 2. automatic locking after unlocking and door not opened soon afterwards 3. automatic locking after you drive off 4. Both 2 and 3 above

Glad to hear. This morning I actually meant to switch on the option that auto locks the car if you don't open a door after unlocking as I only have the drive away locking enabled at the moment.

Just actually noticed on mine - the autolocking after a few minutes if a door is not opened, doesn't actually lock the fuel filler flap and the alarm doesn't get re-activated.

Oh right...when I said I had it sorted I thought I had but didn't. However I am sure NOW I have interpreted the (rather ambiguous) symbols correctly. Won't know for sure till I drive it tomorrow.
BTW I have actually read the manual unlike the joker who just assumed it would be included. |

I am searching and *trying* to find in the manual where it shows all the user-configurable options, but I can't seem to find it. Can someone point me to a thread where this has been discussed? Thanks in advance.

Although might be considered a suitable response to the OP's questions this is a forum for communication and chatting and other points can come out of it that no one anticipated.
These particular answers are in the manual but it does take a bit of jumping round the pages to find it and if you can save half an hour of hunting and have a chat in these forums at the same time - that's why it's here. Mind you, if the same questions get asked a lot you'll get . |
