Anyone Else Sick of BMW's Pedal Design?
Somewhat of a random rant but I was just looking at an interior shot of an e92 335 and I was saying to myself, man they need to upgrade those pedals and dead pedal to something more sporty. They look so cheap and ugly in comparsion to the rest of the interior. I would think BMW could come up with something sporty yet sophisticated to spice it up down there. On both my e46's I had to put new dead pedal (M dead pedal worked nicely) and aluminum pedals for a cleaner look. I know BMW makes OEM ones as an accessory, why not make them standard with the sports package or something?

I agree. Not only the appearacne of the pedals but the shape design as well. It is pretty hard the heel-toe shift in my car compaired to other sports cars I have driven.

yea, it's funny, because when i look back to my e34, it had basically the same pedal design and foot rest design of my e90.
i've since gotten hamann pedal covers and a m-tech foot rest (as found in the m-sports and m cars).

I guess that's why they BMW these accessory pedals. I thought the originals were pretty boring too and changed to the stainless steel ones. I ended up putting the stainless M dead pedal too so it looks much better than when I first got the car.

I put on a set of ACS ebay special pedals also, I like the way they look and feel. More important then the look of the BMW pedals, I really hate the placement of the pedals. I wish that the brake pedal was a little closer to the throttle so that it would be easier to blip while braking, but the overall design of the gas pedal pisses me off. The first 1/2" is dead, it does nothing. Add in the fact that you can only press it at the top of the pedal without smashing on it only adds to the aggravation of using it. I really wish that they would just ditch that gas pedal and hang a gas pedal that is more responsive and easier to press while heel/toe'ing. Ok, i'm done complaining now.

For any OEM parts you can always try crownauto.com, they usually have pretty good pricing.

Agreed. Do any of these pedal mods help heel-toe, or do they just look nice?

I saw them on e-bay from the seller "hunterdon bmw" for $120.00. I went to my dealer and they matched the price plus gave me the BMWCCA discount. I really didn't look too hard to save a few bucks though. It really does look nicer with the black and SS dead pedal that is on it now though but this was the only pic I had handy for this thread. Be warned they are a mother#*$&^$ to put on. There is a DIY in the DYI section but I got so frustrated, I paid the dealer to put them on.
