Runs against the e90/2 m3?

Has anyone done a run with the e90(2) M3? I found a post in 2012 that said we are even to about 110mph. Curious to see if we have new results with the ISO update to the jb4.

Sweet. FBO? Intake, tune, DP? I'm curious as I have jb4 stage 2 and DP. Haven't really considered any other mods.

M3's are slow in a straight line compared to a modified N55. A tune/bolt on 135 or 335 will be low 12's or high 11's with a good launch. M3's stock run 12.6 with a GOOD driver for DCT and more realistically, 12.8-13.1 - especially with MT. Add in e85 or meth to the N55 and it's a massacre. Hell, my 3900lb X1 is running a 12.5. A lighter 335 will be significantly faster than that.

Road course will be a different story, obviously. Power doesn't really help you much there, and you'd need coilovers/bushings/wheels/tires/braces/etc to hang with a M3.

You'll win until you get into 6th gear past 5500rpm. You wan to keep your revs down as that's where you make the most power. You'll make more power than the M3 through every gear up until 6th, where you can't shift anymore to stay in your power band. The M3 gains power as revs build while you lose it, so his sweet spot will be at the top of the rev range while that will be your weakest.

stock for stock which is faster? and if your modded... how about racing supercharged "modded" m3? Game over... I have a n55 xdrive at cobb stg 1 and a e93 m3 manual test pipe and tune. from a dig the 335 is quicker, by 50ish mph the m3 is just starting to stretch its legs, but 100mph the m3 is quicker. I enjoy both of these cars much but if a nice person presented me the choice to pick one of the cars, I would be happy and grateful either way.

Stock for stock the M3 is faster, but keep in mind that your 335i x-drive is slower than a RWD version, and your E93 M3 is slower than an E90 or E92 M3. FBO 335's will beat M3's, supercharged M3's will walk FBO 335's.

So I'm guessing I need a few more mods (intake, fmic, 100 octane) to be competitive. Right?

Downpipe, FMIC, and ethanol/methanol/race gas = dead M3. Intake adds maybe 10whp once you're fully modded, but some would argue that you lose power

If you're running e85, you don't need to be FBO to walk a stock M3. It's a huge, huge advantage (30+ whp).

If you're on 93 Octane, you'll need DP and FMIC, possibly intake.

Here in Ontario Canada we don't have e85... What do we do? Only 94 octane, possible add some octane booster?

I don't have any ethanol stations where I live, but oddly enough I has two gas stations that sell 100-110 octane race fuel. I think I'll try map 7 and do the ISO update. I'm a bit skeptical on the IC as I don't see how it offers any noticeable gains. (Unless I have no other mods left) which I could be getting to after I try out an intake.

Intercoolers offer huge gains, heat soak is especially bad down in Riverside (I went to UCR) and a larger FMIC will mitigate that, freeing up 1-2psi

e85 is 103/104 octane....just for a reference.
