FRM (footwell modules) Question
I believe mine is damaged. Looking to replace, dealer confirmed via my VIN that I have an FRM 2.
I found one on eBay, just want to make sure there's nothing specific I have to verify for correct fitment. For example, the fact that my car has comfort access, would the car this FRM was pulled from also have to have comfort access? I have little knowledge about these modules so any experienced help would be great. I will be pulling mine off later today and looking for matching part numbers, anybody have a link or diy i can follow to pull this bad boy out? Thank guys. |

Just have to make sure it's off a car with adaptive xenons.

Yes, as VTECaddict said. If you have adaptive headlights then you need to buy FRM2 with this functionality.
Then you just need to reprogram your replaced FRM2 and change VIN. Everything shoudl work correctly. |

I found one for a 2007 335i w/ AHL already but will it fit my 2009 LCI 335i?

What is your Build Date? - located on tag stuck on body of car to the rear of the DS door when you open the door If you have E92: actually, since you are replacing the FRM & will need to code the new one in anyway - you should look for an FRM3. Same install procedure, but with FRM3 you will be able to add LCI tails without having to do any coding to eliminate errors...

Can't find an FRM3 currently and was told by Jeff in parts at the dealership that based on my vin my car build holds the FRM 2. The FRM 2 requires additional coding if my model is an LCI? Although I was told the FRM i have is already 2 anyways? Confused.. |

2007 cars have FRM1. I have two FRM2 modules. One stupid member sold me non-AHL on this forum. then I replaced it with FRM2 w/AHL. It is coming up for sale if you are interested.

This is AoshichanX; you were viewing my auction. I don't post under the other username any more. you can use FRM2 or FRM3. The coding procedure is the same for both. FRM2, like I mentioned in the eBay message, offers additional features like welcome lighting and day time running lights over the FRMFA. FRM3 offers even more features--you can adjust the brightness of the Angel Eyes and some other stuff. Since the donor FRM module will have a different VIN, you can change it by FA_WRITE. It will work if you skip this step. But you won't be able to change any of the FRM module's values until your VIN is coded to the module. Here are the steps:

Lastly, any e9x module will do and probably even other models in the BMW family. I've successfully installed a Mini Cooper Combox Module in an e90 335i previously. |
