Got a chance to officially race the brand new Audi S5 a few times today, stunning
i didnt really want to make a thread about this or mention it much since i wasnt able to video tape it, but i've got my word and his word and his proof of working for GMG and having one of the fastest twin turbo S4s ever as my proof.....but basically, i have a friend who works at GMG racing who had to return an S5 that they were working on back to a dealer (not going to mention which one) and he called me (around 3pm today) and told me he was in the area and wanted to run. So we did, with poor conditions: hot day, poor road quality, not an actual straight away, and i never managed to launch my car, though he launched his everyime. By the way, im not down for street racing but this was just too interesting to resist, i mean come on......a chance to see what i've got against the brand new S5 that i hadnt even seen in real life before!
The results of my TT and exhuast equipped 335i coupe vs. the audi S5 without me even launching and just using DS mode instead of my paddles was this: we ran about 4 times, and every run we were tied until 50-60 and then i'd pull away like nothing, a nice 4-5 car lengths before stoping at around 100-110. Though its not fast, the S5 is damn good looking in real life, like wow, i'll give it that. Looks so mean from the front in your rear view mirror!

See, this is exactly why i didnt really want to post this...theres always a guy whos gotta start hating. I didnt say my car was fast, but obviously faster then the S5, which is an S. Fast is F1 cars, LP640, Bugatti, Carrera GT, or other cars running 0-60's at under 3.5 seconds and doing 1/4 miles under 10 seconds.

It's nice that you were able to see his grill from the rearview mirror! Looks like all bark... no bite |

lol froth you are just the most negative prick on this forum, id like to meet you in person some day just to see what is wrong with you that makes you so relentlessly obnoxious. he said he didn't launch hard, you have amazing selective reading skills that you utilize in your replies...

^^^ thanks for the verification nico, i didnt want to bring you into this since i knew people would start BS debates about this, but thanks man. So there it is, nico was there too and can vouch for this. The only thing interesting about this thread and my race is that I think im first one on the forum to actually race a new S5. Other then the comparison tests by magazines and tv shows between the two, i dont think many people have had a chance to race one, or even see one on the road. As if you guys thought the S5 was supposed to be faster then a lightly modified 335 anyway, should be no suprise to you guys. I mean damn, its heavier and only has 354 hp at the crank with no tq comparing to a twin turbo car.

Thanks for the thread Boost. Nice to know that the S5 isn't really worth $12k more than a 335. I know I know, speed isnt everything, but why does Audi continually make pigs out of cars?

He deffinately knows a thing or two about cars and their dynamics. He works at GMG and has had 2 twin turbo S4's both which have pushed out over 500hp and were TOTAL track monsters. Fully gutted, Moton racing suspenion, forged magnesium wheels with carbon fiber barrels! and the works. He's got videos all over youtube and he's well known on Audiworld.

I test drove an S5 yesterday and it was amazing. If felt so much quicker than my e46 M3 did right out of the gate, it honestly almost felt as powerful as my M6 does. The roar of the V8 was awesome. The interior had too many buttons though, and I hated the plastic trim on the doors, console and seat bottoms though. I am sure it can't be as fast as a 335 though, because like everybody says around here, nothing can be as fast as a 335
