Water pump Q for those that changed theirs
For those that had their pumps died prematurely, let's say before 50-60k miles. Does your second pump last longer? Or it dies again for another 50-60k miles?
I guess what I am asking is, should I just change the pump every 50-60k miles as a preventive maintenance? Since I commute a lot on freeways, I just don't want to deal with being stranded. Thanks! |

I had to change mine at 51,000 miles and it was the water pump and thermostat.
I would like to know as well because this is my wife's car and I'd hate for her to be stranded on the freeway. |

I was not planning to replace again unless it fails; although the 1st failure left me stranded and furious, in an unsafe situation on a highway - I may just replace it when i surpass 100K or 120K km on the new pump. |
