Does your E90's auto tranny make a rattling noise when you engage to "D"?
The noise comes and goes, and it seems that it goes away at higher speeds. I knew this gotta be the auto tranny since I dont hear any noise when I rev the engine in Neutral
My car's got 28K miles and just started making this noise. Before I take my car to the dealer, I am just curious if anyone here has experienced this? |

I think you posted this on the wrong section. This is the DIY section.
But to also answer your question, I don't have that problem.

Yup that's it. The noise is annoying though. Have you taken your car to the dealer yet?

please describe the noise a bit specificly: does it depend on speed or rpm? that means: hold the speed when hearing the noise, then change the gear an tell if the noise goes on or not. if yes: which speed, rpm? cheers cooter |

I heard the 325 and other models before it had that problem, hearing the tranny kick into gear. I think its totally fine.

The noise seems to be going away at higher speeds. The noise is loudest at lower rpm (1k-3k), especially when I move from "neutral" to "drive". It makes the grinding & bubbling noise. Hopefully this is nothing major.
