E93 320i M sport issues!
Hello guys
I'm a newbie on here but i wanted to pick your brains on something. I had my EML come on the other day and the dealer has told me that i need a new Nox sensor and O2 sensor.... How serious is this and rough cost to fix. My car has just come out of warranty in sept. Also i have requested the performance exhaust (i know what the 6 cylinder guys will say... "whats the point on such a small engine") but i got what i wanted to keep my insurance down, plus there is no where you can use the speed in london. BMW have told me that this exhaust is out of stock in the UK and Germany.... anyone else experienced this? If so how long before the part was delivered? Any help is appreciated! |

Take out the after sales BMW assured warranty. With 0 excess it's costing me £55 per month.
I bought my e93 320 m sport in May. So far I've had 1 x comfort access handle, 2x coils, 2 x injectors, 4 x spark plugs, 1x nox sensor and a cat clean out. It's been worth every penny |

Just called BMW and they quoted me £40 a month with £100 excess for comprehensive cover.
I also got called by dealer and the bill to fix NOx sensor, o2 sensor and wastegate issue with exhaust is £1300! Wish I had the warranty sooner.... Sigh |

The BMW one is fantastic! It covers everything apart from trim (and 93 roof adjustments ). You can pay monthly or yearly, you can choose one of three excess amounts and all work is done by a main dealer.
Ive probably had £2000 worth of work done so far and would have probably sold my car without it as I simply cant afford BMW parts fitted by BMW or an independent. |

What waste gate issue would you be having on a 320i?

I am due to go down there tomorrow so hopefully the dealer can shed some light on it as I may be getting ripped off by the sounds of it! Will update soon

Back to the original question.
Nox sensor on a 320 is £300 and is easy enough to do yourself in about 1.5 hours. Similar for the O2 sensor, but sensor itself is a bit cheaper (used to be about £80 for the e46) |

Ok so I've got my baby back....
The final cost was £990 after a little discount. They changed 2 o2 sensors and the NOx sensor, the issue with my exhaust is still a mystery as the guy I spoke to didn't seem to be able to put his words together. It didn't matter too much anyway as they managed to get hold of a performance exhaust for me (as I requested) and its been fitted. If you have ever been in two minds about getting the PE then let this put your mind at rest...... Its amazing!! It gives an amazing deep tone and sounds even sweeter at high revs! Pics to follow tomorrow. Thanks for all your replies |

It does however give it that BMW sound when accelerating which in my opinion is a nice touch. I have been told to give it a lil while to bed in so will have to see if there is any noticeable power increases. |
