Contis Winter Contact
Does anyone have any first-hand experience or general opinions on these tires?
Continental WinterContact TS 810 S SSR in 205/55/16 I live in Toronto and primarily do city driving with occasional ski trips. I would have preferred to get Dunlop M3 DSST...but Tirerack is out of stock... Thanks

Michelin Primacy Alpin PA 3 is No1 Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D is No2 on this test. Alltough, people that have GoodYear UltraGrip 7 say that this is the best winter tyre in the world, last year it has winned in every test. Dont know what to do if you search only RFT, I will put steelies from E46 and normal winter tyre. Hope this helps... |

Y this test has the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3d, NOT the same as the M3's that are available as RFT. I saw another German test that ranked the Contis better in the dry, equal in the wet and a little worse in the snow than the Dunlops. Since that's more my style of driving (I'm not in heavy snow) I'm going with the Conti 810's.

i don't think you'll regret with this tire. mine's waiting to be put on. contis have proved themselves in my old car and their performance have worked well for me. get it and you'll enjoy the road handling. btw, the other replies on top did not mention that contis was rated #3 on the survey but overall if you've read the consumer report reviews, they are much better off than the dunlops. tirerack's reviews on the dunlops weren't that impressive. enjoy your ride. ![]()
