Blacked Out Housing Thoughts?
Car:
2011 E90 LCI Black Metallic Sapphire I am going to install Umnitza Orion V2 LED angel eyes and thought I might as well get the housing blacked out at the same time. Unfortunately the car is black and I can't decide if a blacked out housing would look good or bad since there won't be any contrast in the headlights. Currently the housing is a light grey color. So my question is should I leave it grey or black out the housing? Link to my car. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=902104 |

Black would look great, but it's going to have to be a high gloss black like your car. A matte or satin black would look cheap or out of place. Gorgeous car BTW and goodluck. This weekend I'm blacking out my spare set of headlights and adding the demon eye mod to them. Should be fun....

Why not use V4? It's much brighter & the spacing of the LED's are more dense compared to V2's blueish color. I know V4 is a little bit more expensive, but the light output of V4 is better then V2.
As for the housing, I didn't do black out because my car is also black. Too much black will make the headlight dissappear. Unlike with other colors, black out headlights makes a good contrast. Boss Cats Design did my custom headlight and it happened that I used your car's pic to photoshop it (hope you don't mind). I showed it to him on how I wanted the headlight to look like. ![]() The only blackout is the projector shroud. I replaced the cover of the other light to projector lens, to make it look like quad projector. Here, check the link to my custom headlight...http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=902676

I blacked mine out with a satin black on my Jet Black car. Here is a link to how they look. Don't have a pic at the moment of them on the car but they look really good.
