Need Help: Simota Intake
I need the bracket shown in the pic below:
This doesn't come with the intake I bought and I don't feel safe installing the intake without this. Anyone knows if I can get it anywhere or is there anyone here can provide me with the length of this metal piece? Anyone install this intake without this bracket? |

What! How do you not have any tools?!
Hmm.. We'll it looks like a peice of crappy aluminum you can bend with your hands/fingers and drill two holes in. Get a crappy drill from your local tool shop and drill two holes on each end of the aluminum. Bend them into the shape you see in the picture and then mount it. If your worried aobut things coming out. Locktite each bolt. My intake will be here soon, I'll look at my bracket and see if I can make one for you. |

Got a $115 ticket on Saturday when i stopped for 30 seconds at a No Standing zone to pickup my friend (the cop block my car preventing me from leaving and gave me a fucking ticket), paid for this intake which i thought is brand new and JUST NOW when I was installing it, I dropped one of the screws that is used to connect the two parts together into the engine bay!....ha...can't see it and I don't know where it is underneath ....ARGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I am so exhausted...anyone knows what size is that screw is? Oh yeah and also.....I stepped on some dog poo....GGGRRrrrrrr. Also...does the intake touches the compressor? Mine is like about 5mm away from the compressor. |

That sucks bro. Sorry that your having such a rough week. We all have shitty days and shitty weeks it's all good. Which screw did you drop? A picture would be helpful, I should be getting my intake at the end of the week so I'll see if I can make the bracket you need and find the screw you need to mount the intake. If anything I'll mod it so it's even more secure than just using that bracket. |

I notice that one of the pipe that connects the radiator and the engine is touching the intake as shown. Is this normal? The pipe is burning HOT after driving for 5 minutes.

I think you have fitted your intake wrong or the bracket keeps the intake from leaning on that pipe you see there. Can you take better pictures? The ones you have are so crappy quality. Or when I install mine I'll take some detailed pictures on how it should fit. |

Why you didn't have that bracket????
It should come with the kit. who did you buy this from? If the seller can't get u one, I might get you one next month. I will suggest you remove the cf intake first before it broke. Let me know if you need me to get that for you. |

When I installed this intake the pipe does touch the intake. Its the only way you can get the two CF pieces to line up correctly. Good luck with the bracket/install.

Hey BMXTREME,
Any updates? When I installed my intake, I realized it does touch the tube/pipe on the car. I took a look at the bracket and it does look quite heavy duty. Have you found something to keep the intake in place yet? It would be hard for me to make something, maybe a vendor could get you an extra kit. |

Bumping an old thread and sorry for not getting back, was busy with interviews last Nov-Dec. I finally attempt to put this together again. The pipe is touching though. So Excellence, do you still have the intake on? Any problems with the pipe touching? My logic is that since the pipe is hot and touching the intake means heating the air going into the bay..which is why I would rather it not touch....as for the bracket, I found some stuff in HD that would help me with that..so now I would need to bend and drill holes so it will fit properly WOuld be nice if someone who has an extra send one my way (I'll pay shipping plus I'll get you Visa Ultimate for $50 )
