335is tunes?!?

Which one did you guys go with?
Jb4 bms flash
Procede
Or Cobb with the pro tune?
I'm waiting for my car to get shipped to me and I am Installing downpipes, dci and charge pipe. Trying to run a mix of e85. Which one do you guys recommend?

I love the jb4 steering controls and gauges. How easy is it to switch maps on the Cobb in case I don't run e85

For simplicity, convenience, and "custom" tuning, get the Cobb AP v3 and PTF tuning together

http://www.protuningfreaks.com/tuning/cobb-ap-tune.html

If you decide you don't like it, ( I will call you crazy if you didn't )
you can resell your V3 which hold its values extremely well

Don't have any prior experience with JB, but I am extremely satisfied with my cobb AP + PTF e-tune

A lot of used v2 Cobbs for sale in the classifieds for around 495-$600

One important factor is whether or not you will have the DCT.
If you do, it's wise to have a flash tune, or a piggy back with a backend flash as well.
The DCT receives info from the dme in order to operate. A piggy back tune messes with this info and it could lead to problems.

If you have a 6MT, then no worries, go with a jb, its the cheapest and has good results.

If you have the DCT. Start with a flash tune like Cobb. Its easy and worry free.
If you like the features on the jb like I do, get the jb but make sure to get the backend flash either via Cobb or a BT cable and a laptop. Plenty of info on how to do this on this site.

And I have heard nothing but good things about the PTF team so that's a great route too.

I saw BMS posted a free back end flash for the 335is recently so that is also an option if going with the JB4. With the DCT when using E85 the back end flash is strongly suggested to get that trans line pressure up and prevent slippage.

If u have dct dont go procede or open flash tablet. Neither option supports your car on e85 even though the tuner claims it does.

JB4 has worked perfect for me. I need to find a cheap Cobb to get the backend BMS flash though, but it's a beast on E40 as it sits.

The JB4 has been running IS specific software since late in 2011. The best pure stock application in a 335is has been a stacked JB4/BMS-COBB flash. 11.9/118mph on a 91/E85 mix.

This is better than a number of FBO Meth apps.

I've run both these tunes with 50/50 E85/91Oct with good results on my 335is w/ DCT. So they "can" support it.

However, I do agree that if you are looking for a turn-key solution with sufficient vendor support for this configuration, these options would not be ideal.
I have had to create my own maps and do a lot of learning and leg work on my own to make it work in my case.

it takes 90 seconds to switch maps on cobb.

Both approaches (COBB or JB4 and flash) will give you almost the same power gains. And I've seen customers very happy and satisfied on both sides.

You can't go wrong with either and it boils down to what you really want.

Can't switch maps while driving with Cobb. On the fly changes with JB4 are pretty awesome. I have JB4/Cobb stacked.

So every time I take off the jb4 the back end flash will be gone? Or I need to red lash to stock first?
And can I use my friends Cobb for the flash?

the Cobb AP can only be used on 1 car at a time... it will be "Married" to that car. If you want to go back to stock, after uninstalling the JB4, you would just use the Cobb to uninstall the flash.

Just make sure it's been "unmarried" or "unpaired" first. Don't buy a brick!

As of this second there is no real advantage to the V3 I'm aware of, just looks/screen. I'll gold plate my V2 if I want it to look fancy.
