My 320i started developing the typical problems this evening... violent engine shaking, rough idle, engine management light etc.

I have the Comprehensive Warranty which includes the basic BMW Emergency Services. I just gave them a call and they said they'll send a tech guy out in the morning to have a look and attempt repair.

From your experience, what are the odds of them fixing it there and there if it's a typical problem like a coil or spark plug? Are they like your typical AA guys who carry enough spare parts on board etc? Or do you think it's a trip to the dealers?

When I used the emergency number due to a flat battery which has happened numerous times with still no fix by any bmw dealer.

The tech they sent was a local tow company who I deal with at work, and he had the most basic code reader and a jump pack, I was not very impressed for such a big brand. All he wanted to do was tow it, I said sod that just jump start me I will book it in and take it personally! Still never got fixed. Obviously it's a different fault so yours should get done

I guess it depends on the location of the person / car and who is coming out.
I know somebody where this mobile car fitted new coil pack on the location.
It also depends on what they carry at the time of call out.

She did say that it will be a BMW Technician, not a contracted tow company which they sometimes send out, so fingers crossed!

They came round this morning and replaced a fuel injector on the spot, running fine again, smooth process kudos to BMW!
