Pantheon Museum - Basel, Switzerland...
Pantheon Museum Hofackerstrasse 72 4132 Muttenz Switzerland (CH) +41 61 466 40 77 +41 61 466 40 66 Museum Hours: Mo-Fr 10-17:30 Sa-So 10-16:30 museum@pantheonbasel.ch http://www.pantheonbasel.ch/de/willkommen.html So... I first heard about this place from a good friend of mine. It looked right up my alley so I decided to drop by while visiting the Basel area. The building was smaller than I was expecting, but it still had plenty of cool cars (~80 or so) inside. This place would make a great detour on the way into Switzerland. They have a nice restaurant as part of the Museum and garage storage. From what I could tell most people use this hall to store their classic cars. But the "Pantheon" does own a lot of the cars on display. In fact they even rent out some of the "classics" for weddings or special events. You can even rent the place to hold a dinner or group event inside the museum. Overall the Pantheon made for a nice stop on a great drive into Switzerland. I think many of you guys would enjoy visiting this place. Dackel some pics from the Museum's webpage... And now for my pictures...

This place(I really won't call it a museum bc it was more of a glorified storage house) really had such an eclectic collection of cars. Lots of German stuff but also a fair share of British and French cars. I always find car places like this interesting and worth a look-see.

Sweet! I'll be in Basel next August for FEL 2014. Maybe if we're lucky, the conference banquet will be there. (Your pictures showed a dining area, there is hope...)

Great collection! Something about the layout reminds me of the Barber Motorsports Museum near Birmingham, Alabama:
https://www.barbermuseum.org/index.php I guess it's the spiral ramp shown in some of the photos.

A stone's throw away in Mulhouse (Alsace, France) is the "Schlumpf collection" after the name of the brothers who collected amazing cars, especially Bugattis, before they started to embezzle their company's money to fund their passion. The French state eventually seized the collection and made it France's National Car Museum.

^^I visited the "Schlumpf collection" too on that trip! They had remodeled the museum since I had last been there in 1998. The Schlumpf collection is really something special. I will be posting my (many)photos soon, for Bimmerpost.com Dack

Thanks for sharing! I like different 'museums' such as these. Pretty cool and very eclectic collection. I particularly loved how minuscule the Alfa looked next to that GIANT Rolls-Royce town car!
