First MOT due - Advice Please

I could do with some advice here and before you ask I no longer own a M3

Anyway my car is a 12/2010 320D and my warranty is due to to run out December so it's due it's first MOT.

I know I dont have to take it to BMW to MOT as i've already asked but i'm just wondering what most people would do ?

MOT it at my trusted local garage then take it to BMW to get a few minor issues sorted before the warranty runs out OR let BMW do the lot and possibly get screwed...

I just had the same thing.

I took it in for the free end of warranty check and MOT at the same time. BMW uk called me to arrange. I paid £39 for the MOT at Sytner Chigwell

All went very well. Only thing they said in the warranty check was 3mm on back tyres. MOT had no issues.

If you have an AUC it has MOT protect crap or something with the warranty which should cover any failures IIRC?

I have mine MOT'd at the indy I use.

We send our company vehicles to the dealer for an MOT and they always come back with something needing doing.

My car has never been MOT'd, I thought this only applied to AUC cars that have been MOT'd ?

BMW MOT Protect
Here’s some good news if your BMW is under three years old – it now comes with MOT Protect* as standard.
What does that mean? MOT Protect* is in addition to your BMW’s existing three year unlimited mileage warranty and breakdown cover.

It means that when your car’s first MOT is due you can be confident that it will pass without the need to pay for any repairs.
The new scheme, which applies to all BMW cars registered from March 2009, covers electrical and lighting equipment, steering and suspension components and many braking system components.

Seat belt components and mountings, fuel systems and corrosion damage not resulting from impact damage, are included in the cover and replaced at no cost to the owner should they be faulty.

Will book with BMW tomorrow, thanks chaps!

My car needed its first MOT last week. Gave it to my BMW dealer. Cost £35 and passed with no advisories. As long as youve got good tyres, wipers and brakes it will be fine. The rest will be covered by warranty if anything wrong and theyll just fix it without it going on advisories list. Those three things - you can check yourself pre MOT very easily.
