Dealer A gave me a deal for 2500 of msrp on a e92 335i. Car will be here Christmas hopefully they said. I said ok and put down $500 (refundable).

Two days later Dealer B contacted me and said they will give me 2700 off msrp and the car will be here by end of Nov. I said great. I put down again another $500 (refundable).

I'm gonna cancel Dealer A's offer.

Am i an ass for doing this? I jsut wanted my car as soon as possible.

If you're happy with dealer B and they are giving you a better and faster deal than Dealer A can do, then I don't see that its so bad.

That's the free market at work. Besides, you have to cancel something now unless you want two cars. Why cancel the better deal?

$200 difference could be painted reflector, bulbs, new pedal sets, detailing in the future.

1 month early delivery could be another month of joy in life...

And also, if the car from dealer A is scheduled to be delivered in December, it has not even gone into production. They will sell that slot to someone else. So, don't worry! You are not a jackass for changing your mind.

As long as you arent planning on going to service the car at dealer A, then definitely switch. (granted, you can bring the car anywhere, but they are going to treat you better with a loaner, etc if you get it from them generally)

Wow I wish I had multiple dealers down here... I had to work hard just to get $1000 off MSRP from my local dealer.

how can i put a price on an extra month with the car. i was fine with 2500 off and earlier delivery. i think Dealer B gave me an extra 200 off because they dont want Dealer A to counter offer again...

Dealer A has lights and water bills to pay, and the CA has bills to pay as well. So cancel deal and and keep B, the one with the lower price! Who cares about dealer A! And think of it this way, if you got 2500 off, dealer A is almost certain to sell your allotment for more than you agreed to. Everyone wins!

See if Dealer A will match Dealer B's offer; if not, then cancel it. Dealer A will probably move it for less than $2500 off MSRP to someone else.
