You might want to state some symptoms. Why do you think there is something wrong with it?

it wont blow air at idle. The only time it "blows" air is when you let off the throttle after boosting. It will release the boost pressure.

and someone correct me if im wrong, but i dont believe it should be sucking air either

It should definitely not be sucking air in. It should either be blowing air out or closed.

More than likely its an install error. Can you describe how the BOV is hooked up. Or better yet get a pic?
Is the car having any other issues? Codes?

Another thought is that one of your vacuum lines may have a small crack in it. Which would explain why at idle it's not blowing at air cause it's not getting a strong enough vacuum signal to open. But the fact that it's sucking in air is head scratcher.

At idle your engine is in vacuum so it won't blow any air out.

False!! Your BOV will be venting at idle, so it should be open and blowing some air out at idle. If it wasn't venting, you would have positive pressure at your TB, which is not normal.

Synapse vents at idle, you should be able to feel a very slight stream of air being expelled.

The venting is so very very slight when the car is warmed up it's really hard to notice. If you're paranoid like me, you can put one of these over the exhaust flange of the BOV: K&N RU-0060

Good luck!
