10 25 2007 at IrwingDale Speedway
i was bored today. i took my baby out to the irwingdale speedway to kill time. I just want to share the information.. My car have procede v1.47. i have about a litle under half tank. i mixed my gas 91 octane with 100 octane from 76 gas station . it got about 3 gal of 100 octane the rest is 91 octane. i have my borla xr 1 custom exhaust system.. I have orginal 17 inches Run flat Tire at about 32 psi on all tires. I took the DTC off. 6 spd manual 4dr sedan.. i ran on 1/8 mile at 9.00 at 78.54 mph .. i believe that would be a little under 13 sec on a 1/4 miles.. can someone actually tell wat my real 1/4 would be. here is my timeslip. FYI i did not punch it hard on my car.. i was pretty conversative on my baby. Fyi This is my first time on a control track.. i usually do on the street..OH BOY i cant wait until i get procede v2.. Man i will really going to punch my car super hard to get close to 12.4 on a 1/4 miles. lol jk

That's a pretty good 60' time. There are other 335i cars on www.dragtimes.com with 2.0x 60' times running 13 flat or just under. Problem is that your MPH in the 1/8th mile is about 8MPH slower than most of the others because they're all either tuned or on nitrous so they're making considerably more WHP than you are. Any stock 335i should run mid 13s easily in good air with a good launch and decently prepared track. It's all going to come down to the launch and your shifting (since you're 6MT). A lot more variability driving the 6MT.
Next time flog the crap out of it and see what happens.

By the way people, im not here to show off. i just want share information. Im would not think of myself as quick driver.. Im very conservative and first time at the Irwing Speedway. I want to practice driving at the 1/8 track first, so i can do my best time at California Speedway on Satursday. |

Hmmm weird your traps are lower than expected. Even tho your cutting a 2.2 60 foot, its still a bit on the low side.
With v1.4 and 275's on 91 octane at irwindale I cut a 8.3 @ 86 mph with a 1.8 60 ft. When I was stock down to the paper filter, I got a 9 flat @ 81 mph with a 2.2 60 ft also. I understand driver has a lot to do with it. But even if your spinning the tires the trap speed shouldnt be affected to much. Esp by 8 mph. Not trying to sound like an asshole. But by chance did you let off too early?

Times are really slow.
Keep practicing shifting. You're 60' time wasn't too bad, so you launched okay, but 9.0 seconds and 78.5 mph result from that tells me you are shifting really SLOW. I'd remove that time from Dragtimes if I were you and get some more practice shifting then get it down to low 8's and then post it on dragtimes. As it stands your 1/8th mile times are worse than what a stock car gets. Practice, practice, practice. Good luck. |

This is the case where in a race it would be totally a driver factor. With times like this some better driver in a stock 335i could beat your PROcede equipped car.

I also wonder about the "custom" Borla exhaust system.
That probably means a Borla muffler but custom piping in front of it. Unless tested on a dyno, if the flow characteristics of this custom piping aren't proper and don't work in harmony with the Borla mufflers, you could actually be losing power from this "custom" exhaust. That could also be part of the factor (along with slow shifting/driver skill) with these really slow ET and trap speeds for 1/8th mile. Again, stock 335i's run better and faster times. |
