Newbie question about wheels/tires fitment
Hello all, new to the forum as I just acquired a 2007 328i sedan for my daily driver. The problem is it came with the 16" base wheels and in my opinion it needs some help in the wheel dpt. I found these cheap wheels on ebay and I was wondering if they would fit the car and look right. Here is the link if you want to take a look:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-MATTE-BLA...28b6b8&vxp=mtr The specs on the wheels are Front Size 18X8.0 Offset +35 Rear Size 18X9.0 Offset ET +35 Bolt Pattern 5x120 Hub Bore 72.6 What size tires should go on these wheels to make it look right? Thanks for the info guys. And if you have any recommendations about other wheels or vendors that sell cheap sets like these I'm open to that too. I like the mesh look. |

VMR offers similar looking wheel and they are vendors here. http://www.velocitymotoring.com/wheels_v703.html They have 18x8.5 et35 and 18x9.5 et33 setup that will fit to your car without any problems or if you want more aggressive then 18x8.5 et20 and 18x9.5 et22 This might need fender roll to rear.
This is just my opinion but i wouldn't get matte black wheels, if you really want black wheels gloss would look better or gun metal or hyper black.

I guess my next question is what size wheels will get rid of the horizontal gap between the rear fenders and wheels? I'm just looking to have the wheels sit more flush with the fender. Look a little more aggressive instead of sunken in the wheel well. Are wheel spacers my best bet for that? If so what size spacers will work with the wheels mentioned above?

Will 235/40/18 fit up front and 265/35/18 on the rear for a little rim protection? Or should I stay with 225/40 up front and 255/35 on the rear to be safe? Thanks for the help, I need to order them today.

On another note, these wheels in the link above are probably very heavy and extremely poor quality. There are numerous posts about wheel cracks that are poor quality, just search. Check out Apex ARC-8 either 17 or 18". They are very light and strong, and would imrpove handling, braking and acceleration. Buy once and be done. Just my .02c ... GL |
