1/4 mile est in Procede v2? New M3:12.8@113!
Now that we have some offiical 1/4 mile times for the M3 from Car and driver, what times are we going to see (or seeing) now for the Proceded 335i.
http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...08-bmw-m3.html M3: 0-60 (4.3sec), 12.8 @ 113 mph Last edited by sajakh; 10-26-2007 at 11:12 PM.. |

c63 doing 12.3 @ 116 mph?
Doesnt make sense, the car weighs 4k lbs and has 451 horsepower and 443 tq at the crank. Gearing im sure is in the equation but it will only bring you so far. Must be the most best conditions ever.

Great article. btw -- did anyone else notice which tires the E92 M3 was wearing???? Michelin PS2 (non-RFTs)...I guess that shows you which high-performance summer tires BMW thinks are the best!

I wonder if the V8 in the Benz isn't detuned in the C-class as Merc would have you believe with the released figures? BMW has no problems underrating their engine output, maybe MB is doing something similar?

For straight line performance, I think that debate has been settled for quite awhile.

I'm hoping to get into the mid-high 12's in 2 weeks...but the Moroso track is very difficult to get a good launch, so we'll see. My best time with v1.45 was 13.097 @ 106.67mph (w/ a 1.9777 sec. 60ft.).

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe its just the 500+ HP 6.3. Those numbers seem fast for 450 hp/weight. If this truly the case, I may have to scratch another M3 and seriously look at the Benz. 116mph is moving!

ESP from an E class to a C class. I'm sure rentech or kleeman will offer a package that will put the c63 power output up to par with the e63.

I've trapped as high as 108.3mph (w/ v2) with my Beltronics Vector FX1, but honestly, I haven't really done that much testing; I think I've only done four 1/4 mi. runs w/ v2. I'm still trying to used to v2; it's a bit different from v1.47.

I think it's too early to say what a procede v2 can do, with them saying the first map is conservative, I think there is more to get out of it. By the time the 2008 m3's are produced in December, ship out, and arrive, hopefully we will go from having a conservative map, to mild, or even an agressive option.
It will be fun to watch the first race videos that come out. Me, I am just trying to keep up with my brother's Firebird boltons. I need my v2, exhaust, and intake to arrive. |

I've been eyeing the c63 for awhile. I might end up getting one for my girlfriend.
