order ipod option or no?
I am ordering my car this week but I am confused about how it will work and my search didnt help me out so sorry if I am reposting. I have a 30gb ipod video with well over 3000 songs on it along with several videos. I have read about some ipod kit that limited the number of songs you have access to. I certainly want to access all my songs on the new car and navigate them through the idrive.
Does the factory installed option allow this? Is there anyway to ever be able to see the videos on there and also control through idrive?aftermarket? |

If I had iDrive, I'd have the iPod package. As I don't have the iDrive (i do have logic7 sound) I just use the aux input. Works great.

You obviously didn't search very hard. One of the most discussed topics here.

I have the MOST iPod integration option, which was the old BMW retrofit. I am limited to 500 artists, songs, etc... per listing.
I don't think there is a limitation for the 6FL... Someone who has the 6FL (*envy*) please confirm.

Personally, I use my 6FL with a 16GB Flash drive. Just put mp3 files on it. This way, I don't have to keep my expensive iPod in the car. And a flash drive should live up to the environmental conditions better than an iPod with moving parts will. |
