Exhaust flap error

Hi,

I cleared the codes from my engine (N52 on a 2006 330xi) last night and then went for a drive. When I returned I had a single error when reading MSV70. It has to do with my exhaust flap apparently (I google translated):

2F6C Abgasklappe, Ansteuerung (which means exhaust flap, electronically reversible)

Anyone know what this is about? I searched and found nothing.

Thanks! Mike

check solenoid connection below taillight connections on rear driver's side (behind cover), also verify vacuum connection and make sure someone didn't place a bb or similar in it to make it inop on purpose.

If you unplug connector and apply 12v to the solenoid the exhaust flap should close

I'll do this when I get home tonight. I am suspecting someone did the "golf tee" mod by unplugging the electrical connector behind that cover ...

ok, I verified the previous owner must have removed the connection behind the cover in the boot. I plugged it back in. Tomorrow I will clear the code and make sure it doesn't come back. Thanks for your help! Mike

The correct way to clode that flap involves blocking the hose in some fashion.
Removing the connector will cause a code to be logged.

Just to put this to bed, I cleared the code, went for a drive, and then checked the engine error memory. No codes! Hopefully the previous owner didn't do any other silly mods
