Pot hole or faulty rim

This what my wheel looked like after finally pulling it off. I kept losing air very slowly and though I just had another nail in my tire. Come to find out there were a lot of cracks in this wheel. After months of fighting with UAP they offered to take this wheel and another that was out of round back and did an advanced exchange. They still haven't refunded me months later stating that these cracks are from a pot hole somehow and not a manufacturing defect. Could this happen like this? I don't remember any pot hole that was all that bad and there is no physical damage to the rim other than the cracks on the inside.

Maybe a couple close ups of the cracks and the rim surrounding it. Looks like straight up cracks to me. Rim should bend before it cracks shouldn't it?

Pot holes can destroy any wheel. And many aftermarket wheels are not made to withstand them. Usually its not the manufacturers fault technically. Even a fully forged HRE wheel can crack and bend on a good sized pothole. You choices are at this point to buy a new one or have it repaired

I bent a forged Volk rim this summer after getting into a fight with a pothole. A great local shop fixed the bend. Any rim can and will bend/crack under force. Most warranties are hard to deal with when it comes to this as they will usually claim driver error.

I already sent the wheel off so I can't get any new pics. Tire was fine. There where no bends in the wheel which i too would have expected. But from what I'm gathering is that this can happen from a pothole all the same.
