I have it and like it. It's less than $1000 though. getbmwparts.com is a reputable vendor and they have it for around $725 I believe - that's where I got it from. You're mostly paying for the carbon fiber cover to be honest. You won't notice much difference with any air intake.

It's more show than anything, and it's beautiful, so if you just have to have under-hood bling, it might be worth it. The Euro-box will probably give more actual performance.

I have it. It sounds great, it is beautiful, but it probably doesn't do much for performance. BMW says 3hp. Had I not been under warranty, I probably would have gone with the Euro-intake. In theory, being an official US-market BMW part, the Performance Intake should never cause warranty issues.
I suspect that once I reach the 4yr mark and my warranty is up, and I do the 330i conversion to my car, it will be sold and the Euro Intake will take its place.

that is too much for an air intake. I would do an AA tune and performance exhaust before the intake. At least you ll gain more horse power, better throttle response and nice sound

Change the intake manifold for the dual stage one used on the 330i, and add a tune that can activate it. That manifold IS the major difference between the 230hp and 255hp N52s.
I figure at 50K miles I will do this, and change the valve cover and oil filter gaskets at the same time while I have the car all apart anyway.

here is a link http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=634855 So far it seems like it is the best bang for your buck You could probably do the AA tune and a muffler delete for under a 1000. Sound and performance. |
