How difficult is it to fit shocks/springs
In the process of buying some new shocks for the 335 , having never fitted any before just how difficult are they to replace?
Would I be better off letting a garage do it?

It's quite easy with the correct tools but infinitely easier on a proper lift. I can't imagine a garage charging more than £50 a corner as an absolute maximum, so it would be a no-brainer for me.
Also, spring compressors are scary...

£100 is absolutely steal.

I replaced a front spring on a 320d saloon. What a bastard. Had the spring compressors wound to their limit and it was still a cunt to get the top of the shock on. Then another wrestling match to get the strut back in under the wing. Won't be wanting to be doing that again soon.

Also had the same issue with mine
Spring compressors just could get enough leverage. Got it in the end though. Brute force and ignorance |

Try Damian at Bartlett's on St Peters road. He's usually willing to match other garages in my experience.
