Where in NY are you? Myself and @glachhman both recoded our radios to Hi-Fi and then added new amplifiers on our stock Logic 7 speakers. We are both now looking to upgrade the speakers in the future. What are you trying to accomplish with your system?

No sir, it is not. The factory amplifier doesn't have a lot of power at all. To make any new speaker combination shine, you will want to start with a new amplifier.

You can buy whatever speakers you want as long as they fit. If I were you i'd go with the MB quart BMW kit. It is a kit specifically designed to fit and work for our cars and very reasonable at around $5-600. In terms of the amp I replaced just my amp and noticed a pretty big difference. It was enough to make me hold off on replacing the stock speakers for a while although when I do it will be the MBquart kit. Here's my install thread of the amp if you want to look. Very easy DIY

It looks much harder than it is. With the Tehcnic harness it's literally plug and play and very easy to do

Yup everything you just have to be careful because it provides you with more than enough power to easily blow the stock speakers and sub

I just wired up my Jl 600/6 amp with techniques harness and psmitty95 is right, You will not need to change speakers for now since your going to notice a huge difference with just the amp alone. I'm still on the fence about adding a separate sub-woofer for more base, so I haven't put my paneling back as of yet. I would be happy to help you out since I'm right in the middle of doing my own upgrade. I'm located in NYC and have most weekends off. Do you have a warm garage? lol Dose anyone know if it would be better to add an additional amp to power a separate sub-woofer or could one of the Jl 600/6 amp channels be used to power an additional sub-woofer.

Damn your enjoying my PnP harness lol how's it going? From when I last spoke to Tech he told me that the XD 600/6 can power the subs as well no need for anything additional |
