iDrive Bluetooth check box?

Hi folks,

I'm driving a 2006 E92 335i with iDrive. I have been trying to pair my iPhone for the handsfree and whenever I go to settings/ Bluetooth and try to turn it on it won't check the box. No matter what button I press it will NOT check that box. Any one had experience with this or have a solution?

Thanks in advance

This happened to me (07 335i E90). Shortly after, I had the Bluetooth module replaced under warranty and car recoded. This obviously solved it but I don't know if it was caused solely by the module failing.

Have you got a warranty?

I have this problem too. I have a 2005 e91 330d with the DVD style idrive. The box won't check if you go to it within the idrive so I took it to the local specialist who had a look in the boot under the carpet and there was an optical cable which was blanked and not fitted to the aluminium box. When fitted the system would allow the Bluetooth box to be checked but the system would work extremely slowly (30+ seconds to go between screens!)

After all of this the specialist (Grants of Wellington) said that there are 3 boxes that could be the problem and that if they started investigating further then they could cause problems with the boxes which would be costly so out me off doing anything.

If you find any way of fixing then I would be open to suggestions

Yeah I read a post about someone having to get there's replaced. Really was hoping there would be an easier way than that as I don't have warranty. When I bought the car I was told it came with 7 months warranty but when I went to transfer it to my name the company weren't having it so I've been left with none!

Yeah this is exactly the same iDrive system as me. Could you tell me where about these boxes are in the boot? I've had a quick look and I can't see anything although I didn't poke around too much.

I will find a way because I'm not paying lol!!
