business nav map update
Hello
Just wondered if anyone has business nav and has had it updated to either 2013/14 maps. Do you now have 7 digit postcode entry?? I have professional nav in my car and I have 7 digit entry since updating maps to 2014. My mother in-law has e90 with biz nav and she would like this feature. Cheers

I updated the maps to 2014 on my pro nav (CIC) and I also got the ability to input 7 digit postcodes.
However it doesn't actually work, it doesn't take into account the final 2 digits. I tried it a few weeks back, pit in my full postcode and it bought up what appeared to be the right details, but as I got near to my home it started telling me to go the opposite way I needed to, then I realised it had not actually populated my exact home address as you would expect and had done pretty much the same as if I had entered 5 digits. Yours might be different though, but mine does not support 7 digit postcodes even though I now have the ability to input them. |

I tried to navigate to a couple of postcodes last week & only managed 5 digits because the codes weren't even there, maps 2014 & codes are certainly not new?

Sometimes for the CCC nav you can get the 7 digit codes setup as points of interests on the disks (Razza does this on M3 cutters) and you search through them rather than an actual 7 digit search. CIC with correct firmware should be 7 digit.

I'm confused. Do we have a definitive answer for this? Working 7 digit postcode or not?? Someone must have the answer?

AFAIK you can have 7 digit with the 2014 but as above you need to also have the latest firmware, updating the maps via cd/USB won't give you the 7 digit without a firmware upgrade.
In previous cars I have done the 7 digit POI hack as mentioned earlier, it ok but it's not amazing. Running DVDR discs in my bmw nav to get this hack has also broken 2 of my nav DVD drives after about a year of use. |

Sounds like it's a "suck it and see" situation with your own unit. I got the maps from a torrent and paid £17 on ebay for the FSC code so it's not the end of the world if you update and it's still 5 digit, no?

I checked mine yesterday & I do get full 7 digit postcode on 2011 Pro Nav with 2014 maps. One problem I do find though it's that a lot of the codes I look for are missing, maybe it's an old database?

- latest maps - appropriate firmware If you are on old firmware then even 2014 maps will not give you 7 digit postcode entry. And as Ian said, bmw's 2014 maps may still lack some 7 digits postcode. My residential development is 2.5 years old and it only appeared on 2014 maps so thats how long bmw (or their supplier) takes to put the things on the map database.
